tier one : doin’ the damn thing

$1800

Here you are, Wise One, doin’ the damn thing! Take a minute to appreciate what that means. You’re choosing to support & honor yourself, your baby, your partnership, your other children, and your ancestors, both past and future. We welcome you to sink deeply into this time knowing that you are fully held. This tier offers three modules for prenatal coaching: Getting Acquainted With Truth/Getting To Know Each Other, Pleasure and Intimacy, and Feral Priestess/Birth, each with homework and exercises for you to practice on your own, in addition to working through with us. After our intake call, we will begin our practice of getting to know each other by making a meal together in either one of our homes or your own.

We are so proud to be a part of this new chapter in your life. There is truly no higher honor. Thank you.

Prenatal Care: Ten Hours

getting acquainted with truth/getting to know each other

This module is an opportunity to examine where you are right now. The radical truth of where you are right now, without the veils. What are you avoiding? What are you celebrating? How is your relationship with your partner? Your friends? Your self? We focus on reflection laced with grace, not only for yourself but for the generations that came before you, whose burden you may still be holding onto. This is a practice of recognizing what is ours and bravely reclaiming it. This is also a practice of letting go of what isn’t. We will use this time to get to know each other better as well, starting with our meal, complete with all the icebreakers and maybe even a game of cribbage.

pleasure and intimacy

Here we will confront our limiting beliefs around pleasure and intimacy, with our partner and with our self. We will explore the relationship between sex and birth, and between pain and pleasure, about how getting personal with our pleasure can better help us understand and manage our pain. We will invite you to develop (or cultivate) your own pleasure practice, to take agency over your pleasure, with exercises in sexuality and sensuality,

feral priestess/birth

For the final module, we will focus on preparation for the miracle marathon of birth. We will unpack unrealistic expectations of birth learned through our culture and work to educate you on the many different forms a “normal” birth takes. We will walk with you through the uncertainty of this next step and help you confront your fears with radical honesty and deep reverence. We will work on developing both rhythm, ritual, and relaxation, while also providing you with resources like Spinning Babies, yoga poses, books, other professionals in the field, and many more tools for preparation and peace of mind. We will encourage you to build a system of support for both labor and postpartum during this module, as well as a mandatory meeting with your birth team to discuss your plan and preferences and to get acquainted with one another.

Postpartum Care: Fourteen hours

space, place, grace

Space means allowing yourself time to land in this new phase of life. This is a time of deep rest and reconnection. Space looks like a place, a container, to both celebrate what you have been given and grieve what you no longer have. It is because of that grief, not in spite of it, that space demands grace. Grace for yourself, for your body, for your partner and other children, and even for your baby.

We are passionate about honoring the first forty days postpartum, believed in Traditional Chinese Medicine to be an integral time to replenish, nourish and adjust to life, the new one both you and baby are experiencing. These forty days will shape your next forty years. In many cultures, this practice is commonplace, with the birther’s own mother and relatives moving in to help with the new baby, household duties, and cooking while they heal from the transformation they have undergone, both physically, mentally, and emotionally. We want to support you in this same way. We want to take care of all the little things so you have an opportunity to bond with baby, reconnect with your partner, have quality time with other children, and reintegrate back into your self. This care includes laundry, dishes, chores, light household cleaning, food preparation, and time with baby, even nighttime nanny duties.

We should never underestimate the power of connection, of shared experience, of being heard. We offer a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, a place to express your anger and hurt, all without any judgement or hurt feelings. We will empathize with you and hold you with gentle reverence, not just because this will inform us about how to give you the right kind of nourishment, encouragement, and love, but also because the joy of human connection, the freedom of being fully seen, will fill your soul up, as well as ours.

We will also invite you to dig a little deeper, with journaling prompts to help you navigate difficult emotions, meditation sessions to help find and maintain your inner peace, and other easy-to-implement embodiment practices to bring you back to your self, the one who never leaves, the one who always knows. This is a time of rest and healing and, as such, will be very fluid so you can be held in the most supportive way for you.
